Hailing from Erode, Tamil Nadu, he spent his nascent years at the prestigious Stanley Medical college nurturing his dreams of pursuing Gastro-surgery. He had an opportunity to develop his expertise as a Senior Resident at PGI performing various gastro and hepato-biliary surgeries with reputed senior surgeons, after completing his residency there. He also developed his passion for teaching and training his juniors. He has a keen interest in research and has several publications to his credit in both national and international journals. He is always open to broaden his horizons in the fastidious but kaleidoscopic field of HPB surgery and enjoys teaching his juniors as much as he learns.
